Karole L. Bailey, M.S. Hospice and Palliative Care & Bereavement. Karole received her master's degree in Hospice and Palliative Care, with a cognate in bereavement. She feels called to the ministry of care, and service to those who suffer, particularly to those at the end -of –life, and to family members in bereavement. Karole possesses experience in pastoral ministry in hospitals and hospice care facilities. She conducts grief seminars and grief support groups. Karole has been blessed to minister in song, in different parts of the United States and Canada, singing in evangelistic crusades, in concert with Pastor Wintley Phipps, and guest soloist on the Breath of Life television program with host, the late Evangelist Walter Pearson. Karole’s recent blessed opportunity to conduct a six-day grief seminar, which took place during the Lake Region Conference 2018 Camp Meeting, under the guidance and support of Elder Doris Gothard who is the Women’s Ministries Director of the Lake Region Conference. Karole has also had the honor and privilege of speaking during the divine worship on topics such as “Grief During the Holidays” and “Grief in the Midst of DomesticViolence. “She has always given God all of the praise, honor, and glory for the gifts the Lord has given her.

Karole’s Hospice and Palliative Care & Bereavement ministry is one of loving care for patients near the end-of-life, and care for their grieving families in bereavement. Karole relates even more through her own personal grieving experiences during the loss of her late Father, Mr. William C. Bailey, and the unanticipated death of her 3-year-old niece, Maya.

As a Chaplain Intern, Karole’s ministry extends beyond the inpatient hospital bed and hospice care facilities, to the home, where a loved one wishes to die in dignity. The in-home end-of-life care consists of music that comforts the dying loved one, caregiver, and family members who become a part of their loved one’s journey to the end-of-life.

Karole believes “Music,” is essential in comforting all who are involved, during the end-of-life process. Music at the death bed of a patient, as well as, at the memorial service when requested, honors the loved ones' life until Jesus Christ returns, and we all meet our loved ones again.

Karole’s ministry comes from a heart of concern, compassion, and love - giving both hope and comfort, from “human effort” and “divine power.” The goal is to bring comfort to families who are left behind to grieve their deceased loved ones. Grief seminars and grief support groups meetings are held to help families through their personal grief and bereavement. By combining both music ministry and grief seminars – individuals find comfort and healing.

Karole’s music ministry in song at local churches in her area or wherever the ministry of music is requested – is her calling and mission to reach souls who know Jesus, those who are not acquainted with Jesus, and those who have abandoned Jesus. Whether through songs, grief seminars, or chaplaincy duties to the terminally ill and dying. Her ministry is a calling based on the following Scriptures. – "...but the members all alike should have a mutual interest in and care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the parts share the suffering; ..."1 Corinthians 12: 25-26 (Amplified Bible). “…. put Thou my tears into Thy bottle: are they not in thy book?” (Psalm 56:8 KJV).
