A Resource That Heals Hearts

“Welcome. We’re guessing you’re here for a reason and so are we. Whether it is a formal presentation, coaching one on one, or arriving on the scene of disaster, our mission is to be there with you in the pain, supporting you and fellow grievers through suffering into a new beautiful life. We also educate those who want to learn how to comfort the brokenhearted but don’t know how yet. We look forward to serving you.”
— Karen and Steve Nicola —

Comfort For The Day offers God’s wisdom, comfort, and light to those who grieve. Through grief coaching, books, workshops, and new online courses, Karen and Steve Nicola present loving and compassionate tools grievers can use to honor the memories of their loved ones while steadfastly moving forward with their lives.

While our lessons are steeped in the wisdom of the Bible, the principles are applicable for healing anyone's broken heart. Beyond the death of loved ones, these tools can also be used to help people manage the grieving process resulting from other traumatic life events, including the loss of a marriage, the loss of a job, accidents, natural disasters, or societal shifts like the 2020 CoronaVirus Pandemic.

In the grieving process, there are two people involved:

‘The Hurting’ and ‘The Comforter.’
Our mission is to serve both.

Our Story

Karen & Steve Nicola

Karen and Steve Nicola wrote the book on healthy grieving: Comfort for the Day, Living Through the Seasons of Grief. Inspired by a story nobody should have to live, it became a book nobody should have read; and yet, this inspirational guide is one of many beautiful rays of light to emerge from a place of total darkness. The lessons and activities within provide a place for survivors to put their broken hearts on paper and release the pain, regret, and suffering of their grief.

After their son died at the tender age of 3 in the year 1985, Karen and Steve were lost in the shadowy channels of grief, eventually finding guidance through God’s light, wisdom, and love. Their healing became a life’s calling. Their mission, to make it easier for people to find their way into God’s embrace and to grieve in the healthiest way possible, all while honoring the memories of their loved ones and transitioning from pain into healing.

The proven methods Karen and Steve developed have helped people of all faiths and beliefs -- including atheists and agnostics -- to find relief for grief, inner peace, and the ability to move forward in life. Tragedy can reach people in every walk of life; everyone deserves to heal the healthiest way possible.
